DO WE WANT JESUS TO COME AGAIN?

DAY OF THE LORD

THE LAST DAYS

Over the past 40 years or so, there has been very little teaching from local church leaders about what the prophetic scriptures from the Bible have to say about the last days, the close of the church age, or the end of the earth age.

Generally, this has been restricted to teaching about when we die or when Jesus returns (whenever) - with the common answer - we go to be with him in Heaven. But is that all the Bible teaches?

This has led to much confusion about what the scriptures teach about the last days or how they reflect with the realty about what is happening in our times.

In other words, they fail to connect with the Signs of the Times and leave people at a loss as to how to respond to Jesus teaching when he told his followers to KEEP WATCH and to be READY!

WATCH FOR WHAT and BE READY FOR WHAT?

In this section of the web site, I am deliberately including teaching from some excellent Bible Teachers who have a clear understanding about the signs of the times, but who differ in their understanding of how these last days will unfold.

We are told that we do not fall out of fellowship over these issues unless they place the body of Christ at risk of severe deception. My choice of Bible teachers will therefore be restricted to only a few with whom I have a relationship and who I respect as sound followers of Christ.

I hope that hearing from the Word of God will cause YOU to search the scriptures for yourselves to let the Holy Spirit speak truth to you and strengthen you these last days before Jesus Returns. God Bless.

THE DAY OF THE LORD

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE TEACH ABOUT THE RAPTURE AND THE DAY OF THE LORD?

The level of teaching about THE most important forthcoming Biblical event in history has been the subject of constant controversy for hundreds of years. The question is WHY?

Known also as the 'Parousia' - it encompasses what has come to be known as the Rapture of the Church. But the word rapture is nowhere to be seen in modern Bible translations. This is because it is taken from the Greek word 'Harpazo' which literally means - to 'snatch away as it by force'.

In the book of 1 Thessalonians in the Bible - chapter 4, we read that a day will come when those who are 'In Christ' will rise to meet The Lord Jesus in the air and so be with him forever. This event has been interpreted to mean either Christians being snatched away at any unknown moment in time or going to be with Jesus at a moment that has been seen ahead (through having recognised the 'signs of the times'.

In Matthew 24 Jesus said that his coming would be AFTER the great tribulation but many Bible scholars believe this to be the 7 year period during which God will release His wrath over the earth. Because Christians are told in the scriptures that 'the elect' are not destined for wrath, it assumed that they will not be here during the great tribulation.

However, there are two entirely different Greek words for tribulation and wrath. 'Thlipsis' means tribulation and 'Orge' means wrath - they are not synonyms and yet they are treated so by many Christian teachers.

Why not look up these Greek words and see for yourself what they both mean?

If one takes the meaning of the Greek word 'Orge' to mean wrath, then it is quite true that Christians will no longer be here on the earth but will have been raptured during what the Bible describes as the (parousia) - The Day of the Lord to be with Christ.

This would mean that Christians would still be on earth during the period describes as the great tribulation.

Most reputable Bible scholars agree that there is no absolute reference to the rapture occurring suddenly and secretly. What they do say is that this is 'assumed' by reference to a range of scriptures.

However, I am going to include teachers who belief both in a secret rapture before the great tribulation (by which I think they mean wrath) and those who believe we will be taken to be with Christ at the sound of the last trumpet before the wrath of God as one event.

CONFUSED?

Well, only by studying what the scriptures have to say will you allow the Holy Spirit to bring you into all truth in these last days.

Whatever you conclude, one thing is for sure. IF there is a secret rapture and Christians in the West are not to be subjected to tribulation (thlipsis) then praise God because we will be with Christ in the blink of an eye and escape all the troubles to come on the earth. However, I am personally working on the assumption that we will be passing through the tribulation period although I don't know for how long. At the end of this period (somewhere between 3 ½ and 7 years?) Jesus will come for His bride? I'd rather be ready for tribulation than not.

After all, why should we in the West escape the acute tribulation that millions of other Christians suffer every day as they die for Christ?

Anyway - whatever you conclude, it is clear that these Bible teachers are in agreement on one thing - that the ‘signs of the times’ are indicating Jesus' return is drawing very close. So, do some study and see what the Lord says to you.

God Bless

The Rapture of the Church by James Jacob Prasch of Moriel Ministries

This teaching on the Rapture and the Second Coming of Christ was given by James Jacob Prasch from Moriel Ministries in 2017. Here you will understand his reasoning behind what he believe to be the false secret rapture of the church and the belief that all spirit-filled Christians will be snatched away before the great tribulation. The main point to note if the differentiation between the two Greek words. The first is 'thlipsis- for tribulation and the other of 'orge' meaning wrath. These two words are more often than not used as synonyms when they are not.
